Parking meters, street sweeping, residential parking permits and commuter towaway zones will not be enforced for the Thanksgiving holiday, the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency said.

But that boundless holiday spirit will only last a short time — just 24 hours, in fact.

On the day after Thanksgiving, parking meters, loading zones and street sweeping enforcement will resume, Muni said, although residential parking permits, general parking time limits, unmetered yellow and green zones and commuter towaway will not be enforced.

Muni Metro light-rail trains, buses, streetcars and cable cars will operate on a Sunday schedule on Thanksgiving. On Black Friday, service will operate on a weekday non-school schedule.

Carl Street between Shrader and Clayton and Cole Street between Parnassus and Frederick will be closed from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Thursday for the Cole Valley Night Market.

The Cole Valley Pop-up Town Square will remain in place on Cole Street to the east of the Muni tunnel through the afternoon of Monday.
