Oakland mayor calls gun violence a ‘crisis’ after Skyline High School shooting

Oakland Mayor Barbara Lee said she has been in “close contact” with police after a student was shot Wednesday afternoon at Skyline High School and two young people were arrested.

“My thoughts are with the students, families, and staff affected by today’s shooting at Skyline High School,” said Lee in a Wednesday evening statement. “We are praying for the victims (sic) full and speedy recovery, and to his family, we send our strength and support.”
