The City of Vacaville has completed the second phase of the Jepson Parkway Project, extending the four-lane roadway more than a mile along Leisure Town Road from Elmira Road to just south of the Ulatis Creek bridge, city officials recently announced.

The project is part of a larger 12-mile multi-modal corridor aimed at reducing congestion along the Solano County and Interstate 80 corridor.

According to city officials, improvements include widening the roadway from two to four lanes, adding two new traffic signals, a 10-foot landscaped multi-use path and utility upgrades.

“The completion of Jepson Parkway Phase II brings us one step closer to accomplishing a visionary solution to decreasing congestion on our area roadways, increasing connectivity within Solano County, and providing safer travel alternatives for motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians,” said Vacaville Mayor John Carli.

Public Works Director Brian McLean said the project, which already carries more than 20,000 daily trips, is providing relief to local drivers and commuters.

Funded by more than $23 million in state and federal transportation grants, construction began in summer 2024 and finished in mid-September 2025.

More information about the project is available on the city’s website.
