The San Francisco Giants on Monday announced the dismissal of Bob Melvin as the team’s manager, a day after their Major League Baseball season came to a close without a postseason berth.

Giants president of baseball operations Buster Posey said in a statement that the move was made after meeting with ownership. San Francisco finished the 2025 season with a 81-81 record and went 161-163 in Melvin’s two seasons as manager.
