Bay Area Air District officials announced a “Spare the Air” alert for Tuesday because of anticipated pollution levels.
Air quality is forecast to be unhealthy, as high inland temperatures combine with vehicle exhaust to create elevated concentrations of ozone, especially in the Santa Clara Valley, according to Air District officials.
