Warmer than normal temperatures are descending on the Bay Area early this week but will give way to the potential for monsoonal thunderstorms and lightning strikes by Friday, the National Weather Service said.
A high-pressure system building over the western United States began pushing local temperatures between 5 to 15 degrees higher than average Monday, with the pattern continuing through Wednesday.
