The City of Concord has expanded its Senior Transportation Program with a new free shuttle connecting seniors and residents with disabilities to the Concord Senior Center, city officials announced last week.Â
The Senior Center Shuttle, part of the Concord Go! initiative, will run Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., providing curb-to-curb rides between participants’ homes and the center at 2727 Parkside Circle.Â
Riders can use the service to access programs such as Cafe Costa lunches, recreation classes, and social events including Bingo, Karaoke, and Bridge.
The program is funded by a grant from TRANSPAC and the Contra Costa Transportation Authority.
Concord Go! also continues to offer GoGo Concord, an on-demand service that allows users to book Uber or Lyft rides without a smartphone. Rides are available 24/7, with subsidies offered through the senior center.
To promote the new services, the Concord Senior Center will host a Senior Transportation Fair from 10 a.m. to noon on Tuesday, Sept. 16. Seniors can also apply for a discounted Senior Clipper Card. Adults aged 65 and older can get a 60% discount on BART and County ride services.
