Melinda Stewart, who has served as an attorney for the City of Vacaville since 1995, has announced plans to conclude her 30-year career in December.

Stewart was hired as deputy city attorney in December 1995 and was promoted to assistant city attorney in 2003. She has headed the city attorney’s office since 2016 for a community that has grown to a population of 102,000.

In the course of her career, Stewart was involved in landmark projects such as the redevelopment of the Nut Tree property, the development of Lagoon Valley and the complexities of the COVID-19 pandemic.
