How Ukiah is tracing extreme heat to protect vulnerable neighborhoods and green spaces

A GROUP OF CITY EMPLOYEES gathered in the back parking lot of the Ukiah Civic Center in downtown Ukiah last week to launch an “urban heat mapping campaign.”

The initiative was organized by the city of Ukiah to record high temperatures throughout the Ukiah Valley and better understand the factors that contribute to heat risk.
