FEWER CHILDREN IN CALIFORNIA are dying by suicide since the pandemic, as thoughts of suicide and suicidal attempts have declined among young people nationwide.
In an annual report released by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, survey data from across the country shows that serious suicidal thoughts in 12- to 17-year-olds in the U.S. fell from nearly 13% in 2021 to 10% in 2024.
