Registered nurses at Chinese Hospital have ratified a new three-year contract that addresses key concerns about patient safety and nurse retention, the California Nurses Association/National Nurses United (CNA/NNU) announced Thursday.
The agreement was approved on June 27, CNA said.
It includes improved training protections for new nurses, better support for nursing students, increased time for workplace violence prevention efforts, and stronger retention measures for per diem nurses.
“Our new contract with Chinese Hospital is a move closer to retaining nurses with the language and cultural skills to care for our unique patient population,” said Jeanie Gee, a medical-surgical department nurse at the hospital.
