Lafayette council member resigns her seat; Dawson was just months into a second term

Lafayette City Councilmember Gina Dawson has resigned from the council, she announced Tuesday.

Dawson, who served as mayor in 2024 and won re-election to a new four-year term in November, announced her decision at the City Council meeting. It becomes effective June 1.
