The city of Antioch is offering low- to moderate-income, first-time homebuyers up to $100,000 in assistance to buy a home in the city.
Along with affordable housing provider nonprofits Bay Area Affordable Homeownership Alliance and A-1 Housing Community Services, the city of Antioch Home Ownership Program will conduct a workshop to introduce the Antioch Home Ownership Program to those who live or work in Antioch at 6 p.m. on May 22 via Zoom.
Eligible potential homebuyers could receive up to $60,000 through AHOP and up to an additional $40,000 provided through partnering organizations.
The groups will also provide education and counseling to help homebuyers establish a stronger understanding of the requirements, steps, and capacity needed to purchase a home.
A homebuyer education and counseling certificate of completion must be provided by a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development-approved education provider prior to a homebuyer receiving AHOP subsidies.
A reservation is required to attend the AHOP informational virtual Zoom workshop. Reservations must be submitted by no later than 7 p.m. May 21.
