Wearing tinfoil hats, clown noses and all manner of costumery, a motley crew will parade through San Francisco on Tuesday in the 47th Annual St. Stupid’s Day Parade.
The event was founded in 1979 by Berkeley resident Ed Holmes. Every year on April Fools’ Day, a group of assorted pranksters gathers at noon at Embarcadero Plaza, then winds its way through the Financial District. The event is open to the public and there is no charge.
