San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie announced new appointments las week to the Civil Service Commission and the Golden Gate Bridge Highway Transportation District.

Lurie named Adam Wood to join the Civil Service Commission, replacing Annemarie Conroy, and Amber Parrish to the highway district, replacing FX Crowley, according to the mayor’s office.

Wood retired from the San Francisco Fire Department in June 2024 after a 29-year career. He was elected to the executive board of San Francisco Firefighters Local 798 in 2012, serving as director, vice-president, and secretary. He has served on the executive committee of the San Francisco Labor Council since 2021. He is the vice president of the San Francisco Firefighters Cancer Prevention Foundation.

Parrish has served as executive director of the United Food and Commercial Workers union’s Western States Council since 2015. She previously served as political director for the San Francisco Labor Council. She founded the Work Forward program, expanding education and skill-building opportunities, including specialized training in LGBTQ+ pharmacy services, workplace safety, and violence prevention.
