The City of Hayward’s Maintenance Services Department will hold its last Disposal Days event of the year on Dec. 14, giving residents an opportunity to dispose of household debris safely and free of charge. 

City officials have opened program registration ahead of the event.  

Officials also said that the event will continue regardless of the weather conditions. Additionally, they reminded Hayward citizens of the following items that are not accepted: 

  • Hazardous materials, including paint, motor oil, solvents, cleaners, pesticides, tires and car batteries  
  • Objects over 75 pounds, except furniture and appliances  
  • Medical waste  
  • Construction and demolition debris  
  • Rocks  
  • Bricks  
  • Dirt  
  • Concrete 

According to city officials, the program allows residents to bring up to five cubic yards of household items to the City transfer station six times a year. 

Participation is limited to Hayward residents, and proof of residency is required.
