The San Francisco Department of Elections continues the laborious task of making sure that every vote cast in last week’s election counts.
In figures updated Monday, the department said it had counted an additional 17,333 vote-by-mail and provisional ballots since the previous report Sunday.
Since Wednesday, the department said it has reported results from nearly 147,000 ballots.
The department said it still must process and count approximately 24,700 ballots. That number includes approximately 6,700 vote-by-mail ballots and 18,000 provisional ballots (cast at polling places and the City Hall Voting Center).
Department personnel planned to process and count ballots until 10 p.m. Monday, then continue their count from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday.
Ballot processing is open to public observation in-person and via livestream from the city’s website.
The department expects to release more preliminary results at 4 p.m. Tuesday, which will be posted at www.sfelections.gov/results.
