Santa Cruz County residents who have concerns about county or city departments or other gripes have a forum: the county’s Civil Grand Jury.
Residents can submit a complaint at any time asking the Grand Jury to explore their concerns, Jury Foreperson Mike Weatherford said in a statement.
The foreperson said they can ask to investigate concerns about county or city departments, special districts including fire, water and road maintenance, or the officers and personnel within them.
“This is a prime time for locals to get involved with their government,” Weatherford said.
The Santa Cruz County Civil Grand Jury, which recently began its one-year term, is a group of 19 jurors charged with investigating aspects of public governmental offices.
Complaints may be made online or by mail. Complaint forms in both Spanish and English can be accessed on the Santa Cruz County website.
Complaint Forms on paper are available outside Room 318-I in the County Government Center, 701 Ocean St., Santa Cruz.
