San Francisco Superior Court clerks are gearing up to go on strike Thursday over what they allege is management’s violations of labor laws, a spokesperson for the union said Wednesday night.  

Roughly 200 courtroom clerks covering criminal, civil and juvenile justice divisions will strike due to court management’s “refusal to negotiate in good faith” on staffing and training issues “that have already caused over 70 misdemeanor cases to be dismissed and that continue to cause unnecessary delays and errors that can be very consequential to people’s lives,” read a release sent out by the clerks’ union, Service Employees International Union Local 1021.
