The GLBT Historical Society Museum and Archives may soon get a permanent home in the heart of San Francisco’s Castro neighborhood.
Mayor London Breed and Supervisor Rafael Mandelman is expected to introduce legislation this Tuesday to allow for 2280 Market Street in the historically LGBTQ Castro district to become a full-scale museum, archives and research center, Breed and Mandelman said in a joint statement. The collection has been in temporary locations for decades, both officials said.
