A four-mile paving project on state Highway 1 in the Aptos area of Santa Cruz County has resumed last week, according to Caltrans.

The pavement rehabilitation project from about a mile north of the Buena Vista Bridge to the Rio Del Mar Bridge will take about three weeks to complete.

Possible ramp and lane closures should be anticipated, Caltrans said.

On Sunday, one northbound lane and one southbound lane were closed. The northbound lane were closed from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

From Monday through Thursday, that northbound lane could be closed from 6:30 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The southbound lane could be closed at similar times, from 7 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Monday, and from 7:30 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Thursday.

Closures will be lifted from Friday to Sunday during the work.

The $5.4 million project by Watsonville-based contractor Granite Rock Construction is expected to be completed by Nov. 15, according to Caltrans.
