Folks who are fishing for something to do in the Bay Area during the upcoming Labor Day weekend are in luck — there’s a lot going on from Friday through the official holiday on Monday, Sept. 2.

Among other things, there’s Alameda’s day-long free Crab Cove Fish Festival, where festivalgoers can play fish games, view large freshwater fish up close and enjoy other fishy amusements. The event takes place Saturday, Aug. 31, at the Doug Siden Visitor Center, Robert W. Crown Memorial State Beach, 1252 McKay Ave.
