Bus service in San Mateo County may be disrupted by a work stoppage Monday and Tuesday after the union representing workers rejected a contract proposal, SamTrans said.

Members of Amalgamated Transit Union Local 1574 rejected a three-year contract proposal, “potentially resulting in a work stoppage that could lead to service disruptions for SamTrans customers,” the transit system said in a Friday press release.
