Continuing land movement at Regent’s Slide on State Highway 1 in Monterey County prompted Caltrans to temporarily halt excavation work, the state agency said.
Crews noticed surface cracking at several points where bulldozers were digging out the slide, indicating additional activity, Caltrans said.
