Emmanuel “Manny” Barbara has been named interim superintendent of the Alum Rock Union Elementary Schools, the district’s board announced Friday.
Barbara, the former superintendent of Oak Grove School District, most recently served as adviser to the chief executive officer of the Silicon Valley Education Foundation and board vice president of the East Side Education Foundation.
Alum Rock Superintendent Hilaria Bauer was dismissed in March. In April, the board appointed Imee Almazan, the director of student services, as interim superintendent.
