Local organizations team up in fundraising efforts for Vacaville police officer killed on duty

Vacaville Police Department Officer Matthew Bowen was killed was struck by a passing vehicle while initiating a traffic stop. Officer Bowen started with the City of Vacaville on June 13, 2023. Prior to, he served as a Police Officer with the City of Concord Police Department. He has served with the highest level of dedication and honor, and his loss is deeply felt by the Department, the City and the community. He is survived by his wife, two sons, parents and brother. Two funds have been set up for the family of Vacaville police officer Matthew Bowen, who was killed July 11 when he was struck by a vehicle.

Police said on social media “We have been overwhelmed with your love and support during this devastating time of the loss of our beloved officer, Matthew Bowen. We have had several requests for information on how you can help Officer Matthew Bowen’s family and our department.”
