The National Hot Rod Association, also known as the NHRA, will return to Sonoma Raceway in July 2025 with its booming engines and breakneck speeds, the raceway announced last week.
Next year will be the 37th annual return of NHRA dragsters that can top speeds of 338 mph while zooming down Sonoma Raceway’s quarter-mile drag strip.
The three-day event features Top Fuel dragsters, Funny Cars, Pro Stock cars and Pro Stock motorcycles. It’s a roaring good time for thousands of race fans, who expect their seats to rumble along the straightaway as drivers battle it out for national titles and a chance to drink fine wine out of the Sonoma Raceway signature winner’s wine glass trophy.
“There’s nothing quite like the energy and excitement of NHRA drag racing against the backdrop of beautiful Sonoma,” said Sonoma Raceway executive vice president and general manager Brian Flynn. “This event has become a cherished tradition, and we can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store for our fans and drivers.”
The announcement was made weeks before the 2024 DENSHO NHRA Sonoma Nationals are set to take place at the raceway from July 26-28.
