Police in San Rafael are warning the public about thieves pretending to be federal agents who have robbed multiple people in the last couple of weeks. 

San Rafael police said in an advisory Tuesday that some people have been posing as federal law enforcement targeting pedestrians or people in their vehicles by approaching them and demanding their wallets or cash. Once the items are handed over, the thieves take off.
