The Town of Danville will host on Monday two remembrances in celebration of Memorial Day.
The Vietnam Veterans of Diablo Valley will hold their Annual Memorial Day Remembrance at 11 a.m. at Oak Hill Park, at the park’s All Wars Memorial. There will be live music starting at 10 a.m.
Oak Hill Park is at 3005 Stone Valley Rd. in Danville.
The community is also invited to join the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 75 and other local veterans’ organizations at the Veterans Memorial Building in Danville to light the Mount Diablo Beacon.
The building is at 400 Hartz Avenue.
At 8 p.m., the groups will gather at the flagpole in front of the building, along with Mayor Karen Stepper, to press a remote button that will light the aviation beacon on the Mount Diablo summit. The Veterans Memorial Building will be open from 7-9 p.m. for visitors to view the historic photos and memorabilia inside.
