San Mateo County officials will be holding an anonymous gun buyback event on Saturday.
The event will start at 10 a.m. through 2 p.m. at 1050 Mission Road in South San Francisco.
Those participating are asked to bring their firearms unloaded and placed in the back of their vehicle.
Participants can get $50 for a non-functioning firearm, $100 for handguns, shotguns and rifles, and $200 for assault weapons and “ghost guns” as classified by the state of California.
County officials said that 3D and homemade guns will be evaluated for value during the event. They added that they have the right to limit the amount of funds a participant can receive regardless of the amount of guns surrendered.
Anyone interested can call (650) 363-4800 for more information.
