Eastbound state Highway 12 in Santa Rosa will have full and partial closures starting this Friday through Monday next week to expedite pavement replacement operations, Caltrans said.

The closures will begin at 8 p.m. April 19 and continue through 5 a.m. April 22, according to the agency.

Caltrans said it will alternate partial and full closures of eastbound State Route 12 in Santa Rosa between the Dutton Avenue exit and the South E Street exit.

The closures are planned to be divided into day and night shifts. At night, the eastbound freeway between Dutton Avenue and South E Street will be fully closed. During the day, one eastbound lane will be open, and one lane will be closed.

Motorists traveling eastbound on the highway between Dutton Avenue and South E Street are advised to prepare for traffic delays or consider alternative routes.

“Caltrans chose to implement full nighttime and partial daytime freeway closures to accelerate the demolition and replacement of concrete slab work that may take up to a year if performed during typical nighttime lane closures. Also, full nighttime closures are safer for workers and motorists,” the agency said.
