Trustees of the Luther Burbank School District in San Jose have selected a new superintendent-principal, Ladislao “Lalo” Lopez.
Lopez, an area assistant superintendent in the Madera Unified School District, north of Fresno, will succeed Edith Mourtos, who will retire June 30, the Santa Clara County Office of Education said in a press release Friday.
The Luther Burbank district operates one pre-K to eighth grade school that serves about 560 children.
