A weekend storm deposited nearly 2 feet of new snow on the Sierra peaks before giving way to sunny skies and slightly warming temperatures across the region on Monday. But don’t be fooled by the pleasant weather, meteorologists advise, as wintery conditions are expected to return by midweek.
On Sunday, UC Berkeley’s Sierra Snow Lab in the Central Sierra said it received another 7.1 inches of snow overnight, bringing its total for the most recent storm to 20.3 inches.
