A skunk and a fox, found a day apart in northeast Salinas last month, have tested positive for the rabies and exposed pets to the virus, public health officials say.

Pets exposed to rabies have been placed under quarantine while officials investigate to determine any potential human exposure, the Monterey County Health Department said in a statement Friday.
