Acclaimed author Mitch Albom will appear at the Santa Clara County Library District’s annual Distinguished Author Series next month.
The series, which aspires to bring together diverse writers whose words strike a chord with readers and spark ideas and thought-provoking discussions, will host Albom at 11 a.m. on Dec. 1. at the Orchard City Banquet Hall in Campbell.
Albom is an author, screenwriter, playwright, and nationally syndicated journalist columnist. Four of his books, including “Tuesdays with Morrie,” “The Five People You Meet in Heaven,” “For One More Day,” and “Have a Little Faith” have all been adapted to screen.
Albom has also founded charities, including a 24-hour medical clinic for homeless children in the United States and an orphanage in Haiti.
Albom’s newest book, “The Little Liar,” explores honesty, survival, revenge, and devotion in a story set during the Holocaust. It looks at the harm we inflict with our deceits and the power of love to overcome the most tragic circumstances and redeem us in the end. “The Little Liar” will be released on Nov. 14.
The Distinguished Author Series is free and open to the public. Those interested to attend the event can register at sccld.org/MitchAlbom.
