SAN MATEO COUNTY Sheriff Christina Corpus said California’s lowering of penalties for non-violent property crimes has contributed to a state of “lawlessness” and urged California legislators to reconsider the law.
“Let’s put some stricter reforms because it’s obviously not working, it’s worked against us,” Corpus said.
