Voters have some in-person, early and vote-by-mail options for the Oakland Unified School District Board of Education District 5 special election on Tuesday.
The election features two candidates running to fill the empty OUSD school board seat — Jorge Lerma, a retired teacher and principal, and Sasha Ritzie-Hernandez, who is described as a coordinator on the Alameda County Registrar of Voters’ website.
