San Joaquin, Alameda counties found to have highest violent crime rates involving firearms

For over a decade, San Joaquin and Alameda counties have had the highest rates of violent crimes involving guns among California’s 15 largest counties, according to a study.

The Public Policy Institute of California, in a research it published this week, said that nearly 40 percent of violent crimes from 2010 to 2022 in San Joaquin and Alameda counties involved firearms.
