The Contra Costa Fire Protection District has held its annual event remembering the district’s fallen firefighters.
Con Fire hosted a service Monday recognizing “those who made the ultimate sacrifice,” at 11 a.m. at station 11 in Clayton.
Con Fire and city officials remembered the fallen with flag and bell ceremonies, a wreath-laying ceremony and other activities. The service can be live streamed on Con Fire’s Facebook page.
The district also welcomes community members to visit the Sept. 11 memorial display at the station, which will be open until Tuesday. The display honors first responders who died during the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks 22 years ago Monday.
Station 11 is located at 6500 Center Street in Clayton.
