Danville will unveil its newest playground to the public with a ribbon-cutting ceremony this coming Wednesday.
Located at Oak Hill Park, the playground will have features not found in other Danville parks, including musical and accessible play components.
The Aug. 16 ribbon-cutting ceremony will start at 10 a.m.
Construction on the $1.025 million playground started in February. It includes areas appropriate for 2- to 5-year-olds and 5- to 12-year-old age groups.
“With musical elements, accessible play stations, and opportunities for inter-generational play, the new playground areas represent a significant investment in quality of life for Danville residents,” the city said, in a statement.
The Town Council and members of the Parks, Recreation and Arts Commission will be at the ribbon cutting ceremony, to which the community is also invited.
Oak Hill Park is located at 3005 Stone Valley Road in Danville.
