A crowd of 2,144 fans attended the opening day game between the Stockton Ports and the Modesto Nuts at Banner Island Ballpark in Stockton Thursday evening.

The Nuts, the Single-A affiliate of the Seattle Mariners, defeated the Ports 10-5 in the home opener.

The game began at 7:05 p.m. and ended with fireworks at the ballpark.

Opening weekend will continue through Saturday, as Stockton continues to face Modesto, with giveaways on Friday and Saturday and another fireworks show to conclude the weekend.
