Reopening
Schools
All K-12 schools open for in-person classes. Schools must complete and publish a COVID-19 safety plan. Masks not required for students or staff.
Libraries
All locations now open.
Parks
County-operated parks, outdoor playgrounds, dog parks, picnic areas, tennis courts and outdoor gyms are open. Information about different county parks and their status can be found at the link.
Religious Services
Places of worship can hold cultural, religious and worship services indoors and outdoors with no capacity restrictions or suggestions.
Public Transportation
Masks not required onboard but strongly recommended. New service schedule went into effect on Aug. 7, 2022.
Personal Care Services
Hair salons and barbershops, non-medical massages, skin care, waxing services, tattoo, piercings and non-medical electrolysis can operate indoors.
Government Services
Courts
Court facilities in Martinez, Pittsburg, Richmond and Walnut Creek and their courtrooms are open. Unvaccinated people required to wear a mask in court buildings.
City Buildings
Open with masks recommended indoors.
Evictions
State and local eviction bans ended Sept. 30, 2021. Applications for rent and utility payment relief closed April 1, 2022. Local COVID-related eviction protections took effect July 1, 2022.
DMV
DMV offices are open and providing service to customers. Most DMV tasks can be taken care of without an office visit. Visit https://dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv-online/ for information on online services.
