Oakland officials have responded to a threat of litigation from the Oakland Police Officers’ Association over what it said was a lack of response and transparency by the city following a ransomware attack last month.

The attack breached the data of at least several dozen police officers and additional disclosures are possible. The data breach also affected other current and/or former employees.
