Danville will be in new town offices Nov. 15, after more than 37 years of being at 510 La Gonda Way.
They shouldn’t be difficult to find, though. The new address is 500 La Gonda Way.
The proximity means only one day of being closed to move on Nov. 14. That will include services in the permit center; planning, engineering, transportation and building departments.
The police department has already moved and will remain open during the move.
Danville acquired the 2.7-acre property in December 2019 for $12.5 million. At the corner of La Gonda and El Cerro Blvd., the property has 38,161 square feet of office space and 11,932 square feet of unfinished space, now used as part of the police department’s 18,000 square feet. Town offices will take up the bottom floor, while current tenants of the Danville Financial Center will remain on the top floor.
“Our current offices were built in 1973, and acquired by the town shortly after incorporation,” said Joe Calabrigo, Danville’s town manager, in a statement. “It was intended as an interim location, and as town services have expanded over the past 40 years, the current space is crowded and in need of renovation. The move allows the town to relocate to a newer, larger, and permanent location and eliminates the need to retrofit and upgrade a 50-year-old building.”
Danville is planning an open house at the new site sometime in January.
