Vacaville will be hosting a polar bear plunge on Dec. 30 at the Walter V. Graham Aquatic Center, located at 1100 Alamo Drive.

The event is scheduled from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m, and the plunge is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Residents of all ages are welcome to participate in the plunge and are reminded the water will be cold.

City officials said costumes are welcome, and participants will be able to defrost in a catch pool that will have a temperature of 92 degrees.

As part of the festivities, there will be hot cocoa, music and swimming.

Friends and family are welcome to watch from the deck.

It will cost $12 to participate with preregistration by Dec. 20 and $14 after. The cost for spectators will be $5.
