The city of Vallejo has been awarded a $500,000 grant from the Department of Forestry & Fire Protection (Cal Fire) Urban and Community Forestry Program, city officials announced.
The city will use the grant funds to complete a citywide tree inventory to help the city establish baseline dates on existing trees, to begin a tree planting/replanting program in disadvantaged neighborhoods and to create a comprehensive urban forestry management plan.
