The Pleasant Hill City Council has unanimously approved a housing project on 5 acres at the southwest corner of Taylor Boulevard and Lucille Lane near the Contra Costa Canal.
The mix of duplexes and accessory dwelling units at 401 Taylor Blvd. would entail demolishing an existing office building on the site that has been vacant since 2019.
The project will consist of 31 detached two-story and three-story single-family units with a maximum building height of 35 feet. Six of the units would include attached accessory dwelling units, sometimes known as “granny” units, which would bring the development in compliance with the city’s inclusionary housing requirements.
The developer will replace area sidewalks, make improvements to the nearby pedestrian trail, and will bury the area’s overhead utilities.
