The town of Danville has launched a new website to streamline community input, and the first project on the site asks residents to weigh in on housing issues for the state-mandated Housing Element Update.
Implemented by California in 1969, the Housing Element law requires local governments to plan to address projected housing needs of the community and adjust the plans every five years for recent changes in demographics and housing demands.
This year, Danville created DanvilleTownTalks.org where community members can complete surveys, add comments, and share ideas for the housing update and future local issues.
The information collected for the project will be used to develop an outline for Danville’s regional and state housing goals. The town will also provide other avenues to give feedback such as in-person and online community surveys and workshops.
