In a letter to the head of Major League Baseball, members of the Oakland City Council said they are willing to work with the A’s baseball team to keep it from moving out of the city.

Oakland recently lost both of its other major league teams, when the National Football League franchise Raiders departed for Las Vegas and the National Basketball Association’s Golden State Warriors moved across the Bay to San Francisco.
