Over the past week San Joaquin County’s Emergency Medical Services Agency reported a decrease of 38.6 percent in COVID-19 hospitalizations and as of Tuesday had 35 COVID-positive patients admitted.

During the peak of the winter surge, the county reported more than 350 COVID-positive patients hospitalized, compared to the 35 as of Tuesday.

As of now the county’s adult intensive care units are operating at 107 percent of licensed bed capacity with one reported death due to COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

The county agency is asking residents to not delay seeking help in a medical emergency or if they are feeling sick and to stay away from individuals outside of their household.
